*Melanie served as project manager and design civil engineer for the master development of QUAY Sarasota, a 14-acre waterfront district in the heart of downtown Sarasota. This redevelopment project includes a vertical and horizontal mix of residential, hotel, retail and restaurant uses.  The Quay was re-developed by Greenpointe, and more about the Project can be seen here:

*Melanie Smith, PE, served as Project Manager and Design Civil Engineer for the design, permitting and construction of the Pedestrian/Bike Waterfront and Scenic MURT, as well as the Waterfront Park. This project included significant improvements to the existing canal system, as well as the improvements for the roundabout at Fruitville and US 41. *Melanie served as project manager and design civil engineer for the 49-luxury condo project located at US 41 and the BLVD of the Arts in downtown Sarasota. Every unit in this building has been designed with unobstructed views of Sarasota Bay. Please see link below for more information.

*Melanie Smith, PE provided Civil Engineering, Planning and Entitlement Services for FLAD Architects. The project consisted of a 65-acre master plan, and entitlement for a new 110-bed Hospital, with 60,000 gsf Medical Office Building, and Central Energy Plant in Venice, FL. Melanie supported the team by providing permitting services through multiple jurisdictions (FDOT, City of Venice, SWFWMD, FAA, FDEP/FDOH, and Sarasota County).

The project entailed reconfiguring the front door of the hospital in order to build the tower, while still keeping the Hospital at full Capacity, and during a Pandemic. Melanie supported the team by providing permitting services through multiple jurisdictions (FDOT, City of Sarasota, SWFWMD,  and FDEP/FDOH).
